    I do not believe this

    I do not believe this

I like the blogs I like and I have come to all of them in a half-ass sort of way which I kind of enjoy. I don't look at any of those contest thingies because I don't need to revisit that feeling you get in your stomach when you finally realize in middle school, "holy shit, I am a loser!"

Lisa - I'm glad you've found some new blogs. I think it's easier than flipping through new blog rings etc... I like the personal recommendations! And, chelle - thanks for coming over here! You are always welcome - and sorry you didn't make the cut on those :( Bastards I tell ya!

I came upon your blog from Crazy Hip Blog Mamas, and I am so glad I did! You have stated how I felt about these awards so much better than I ever could. I was nominated (shocked to be nominated). I checked out all the blogs listed...yata yata yata...My readers (even my Dad) voted for me, yet I did nto make the cut. I totally felt like "carrie" in the Stephen king Movie!! How lame am I??? Yet looking at the finalists that made it...I totally thought to myself "wth???" And made peace with the fact I am less popular than those bloggers and better off for it!
Soo enjoy your blog and totally coming back!!
    chelle

Don't kiss an ass already covered in smooches. That is soo funny and that is exactly how I feel too. I hear ya sista!

Thanks for putting a spotlight on the blogs you like. I've found a few really cool blogs to read through your site.

Dutch ~ You do make a good point. Unless we blog all day everyday, then we can't read them all.

Guess I'll just have to take up professional blogging. Hell, I'm half way there - although I'm not making very much.

it just sucks that no matter what with these blog awards, the fact that none of us has time to read every great blog out there means that somebody is going to be missed. and there are always going to be hurt feelings. that's probably a good reason to ignore them altogether.

and I was about to rant about there not being ANY blogs written by men in that contest, I realized it was only for women bloggers. oops!

Lisa - that a girl - I won't name names either, my friend, but I'm with you. Fosho.

Kristi - I'm all about it - You're too kind and I'll be back tonight :)

MOM-101 - Not sure what the hell I was trying to say up there - but thank you and may the blog readers head your way (and the other folks I mentioned).

AND PS JESS - based on your little "story" on your bloggy (go read it - it's great) - I don't think you'll be a mid-lister my friend - but even if you are - I'll buy it and say I know you :)

I want to be in your clique. You seem cool!

I'd also like to "tag" you for a challenge, though I'm not sure how this tagging crap really works. Please see my site and read A Good Wife Knows Her Place... and also Good Wife revisited. I would love to hear you put this in perspective with your humor!

There are Blog Awards? I knew about the BOB, but there are others?

And, I don't want to name names or anything, but there is one in the Humor that I just don't get at all. I don't think it's funny, it's GREAT writing, but if I ever do happen across it I find my brain reading, "I'm so brilliant at every single thing I write.." and this is where my brain starts admiring my boobs out of boredom. I am FLOORED that it's in the Humor Award Section.

Ditto what Mom-101 said. I'm so glad I found you. ;-)

thanks for the link to samantha's mom's blog.

i hope i can get it together and post my 80s pic!!! i've been caught up in the swirl from my recent posts--preoccupied with one of the heated debates that rages in the autism world. blahhhhhhhhhhh! it ate up all my free time which doesn't take long!!!

Kristen, I realized the code was not working so itook it down. Thanks for lighting a candle for Samantha and thank you for your great bloggin'.

You say it best, my friend. This is exactly why I shy away from buying best sellers. Nora Roberts and James Patterson don't need my money; I'd rather invest it in a struggling mid-lister I've never heard of. Underdogs unite!

Thanks Mom-101 - I give the love where love should be... And yes, it's true, I did do the thanksgiving diet for almost a year - that is true dedication.

And honey, it's over there at your fabulous bloggy for one.

    Can I give a speech?

hehe and thanks for reminding me about my curtain. It's one of my prouder moments.

Now I have to go adjust the cabbage leaves in my bra.

Krista -- Thanks for the suggestion and the email. Now that IS truly sharing the love.

Irene -- I'm holding you to it - booth and pocket.

Carolyn -- I should say comments and EMAILs too - but yes, both give me a little shiver down under (LOL).

Nancy -- You are a good woman. I will actually be voting and I will look at ALL the ones I don't know - I'm trying to be an informed voter in at least ONE area of my life:)

Emily -- You are fucking humorous. That post I read last night still has me laughing.

Chag -- See, that is how it should be. And stay tuned, my "I-never-went-to-high-school-and-I'm-not-a-weirdo" is coming. Any guesses?

    Thanks Jodes.

Mighty glad to oblige you Mama. How'd the interview go?

Jaime -- I know, it sucks.

Christina -- It's true. It is a good way to find new blogs...

Phew. I'm tired. Hubby will be glad. Way less foreplay required LOL...

I nominate you--no, AWARD YOU THE GOLD--in several categories:

1)Sexiest shot of a pregnant woman wearing a curtain as a skirt

2)Most committed to breastfeeding mom of anyone I know IRL or in the virtual world

3)Most generous, kind blogger who makes it her personal mission to see that all the clueless new mombloggers feel part of a sometimes impmenetrable community by blogrolling them, calling out to them personally, and posting well-considered, funny comments on their sites just when they were thinking no one out there was reading.

4)Best meme inspired by a stupid joke about my bad 80s haircut.

Congratulations! These titles are yours until the next competition which will be sometime around 2036.Wear them proudly

Don't kiss an ass already covered in smooches. Hahahaha! Thank you for my quote of the day.

I just went to look at the finalists, and yeah, I agree with you. Lots of the same names, over and over. I mean, I know a lot of them are great blogs, but I guess I'm not feeling the love spread so much, since so many people were in several categories. Were there no other nominations.

And I plan to take my time voting. I am one of those people who will look at each site and carefully consider each one. (Yes, I'm the one who took so long in the polling booth during the elections.)There are several nominees who are on my blogroll, but the unknown-to-me folks always deserve a chance, too. And I might find more blogs I like!

I know several of the initial nominees for the Share The Love Award and none of them made this final cut! Whatever---all the finalists are the same in all the catergories. So tell me again---how is THAT sharing the love!? :)

Why did you not go to high school?

I read a lot of popular blogs and a lot of unpopular blogs. But you're right, regarding awards. The popular ones can drive more traffic to a site and therefore receive more votes. That's why I liked the BOB awards. Only 20% of your possible points was taken from the popular vote. A panel of judges assigned the other 80% of your points based on design, content, etc.

You're just bitter...lol, ok, not really but whenever someone tells me not to do or say something my first instinct is to do it just to see what will happen(no wonder my parents remember my teenage years so fondly, eh?).

I am proud to say I am a humor finalist, though my quiet little blog will not be winning any popularity points(and I can guarentee I will not be the actual winner-but I am totally cool with that)

...oh, and your whole ass kissing/non-smooched ass analogy(lol..ANAL-ogy, just made myself laugh) may or may not have just made me wet my pants(I won't say for sure though, in fear it will scare smooching away from my very lonly, non-kissed upon hiney...who'd want to kiss a wet-upon ass, after all).

PS You really need a disclaimer on your blog stating that it can be habit forming.

    Glad I found your blog.

You wanna know what I think about these award things in general? *YAWN* Boring... They almost always feature the same people and based on that alone, is there any real point in paying attention to them? I appreciate the sentiment behind this most recent contest but I already know most of those blogs from the eight million other award thingys. On the other hand, I highlighted several great reads on my own blog just last night. If someone wants to read something good, go there and check it out and if you like what you find, then SHARE THE LOVE!

I did try to look at a lot of the blogs before I voted for finalists -- and there are a lot of good ones out there, so I am happy to have expanded my blogroll in that way. However, I ended up voting for a lot of my personal favorites, just because I have been reading them for so long and know the breadth and depth of their writing. Unfortunately, most did not make the finalist stage, but I hope one side effect of the awards was to give people more exposure to these tremendous bloggers.

Kristina, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your angel Samantha.

When I have a second, I'm going to check out the link about the blog awards. Kudos to you for nominating the lesser known and wildly entertaining blogs you have recently been introduced to.

And your mention of comments on your blog giving you tiny orgasms is hysterical. I feel the same way!

In the interest of spreading the love, Nancy from "Now You Listen Here" (http://blogs.salon.com/0004580/) just had her baby too. If you want to do a random act of kindness and wish her and hers a congratulations that would be great. She's another awesome under-read blogger.

Thanks for saying the things I was thinking about blog awards. Oh and yep - if I ever get the opportunity to be in a booth full of cash where I can keep all that I can pocket I will definitely give you a call. =)

Kristina ~ I couldn't get the html to work for some reason, so I hope this suffices.

    Kristen

Thanks for lighting the candle and helpiung me remember Samantha.
