Do you think June Cleaver would have forgotten to clean the fuck up every now and then? I'd like to think so...
Feel free to share your own Domestic Zeroism (send me the links). UNITED WE STAND IN OUR SQUALOR!
(Okay, not really squalor, but it sounded good).
I Salute These Brave Women
(And just a small caveat, I did clean up this room after my children were done wreaking havoc, and yesterday I purchased one of these... for my cleaning person/babysitter. SCORE!)

That looks surprising like my loungeroom.
I am glad that it isn't just me who feels that playing with the short ones is much more important than a spotless house.

Oh I am SO on this one!

OK...you've lured out a lurker. Here's a photo confession. The fact that we run a "parenting tips" site makes this mess all the more absurd.

I'm just waiting until 2024 to clean. That's when the last kid will be off to college.

Okay, here's mine: http://procrastamom.wordpress.com/2007/03/29/now-i-feel-the-need-to-explain-my-filthy-baseboards/
And no, I still haven't cleaned those damned baseboards but I have applied windex to the mirrors.

errr.. 05. Not 95. But, it looked like that in 95 too.

Okay...I'm in. But it's really too bad you caught me on the day I *cleaned*, otherwise you people would look really, really domestically perfect. As it stands, I can actually see the floor so I figure I'm good for another week. I'm fairly positive that 20 minutes after the sprouts wake up in the morning... I'll be the Reigning Champion of Domestic Zeroism.

Our house is (kind of) clean once every two weeks - before the cleaning service arrives.
Yeah well.

So, I have something from '95...But I can promise you when we get our own house, it's going to just like this again.

(Minus the ugly couch, because we threw that out when we moved in with The Parents)

In 96 my husband (then boyfriend) and I bought our house, an 8 room colonial. For me this was moving from a 4 room 1 bath condo to an 8 room 2.5 bath house. Never the best housekeeper, I told him that we had to have a cleaning service, full stop. 12 years, many dogs and one Doug (my son) later, we have cutback on some expenses due to changed circumstances.
But that ain't one of them.

Even the painter said my house was dirty this week. The painter. Who had his morning beers before beginning to work.
He suggested I make throw pillows out of the balls of dog hair in the corners of the room.
I told him to shut up and paint.
Well, not really, but I should have.

We've got the same Thomas the Tank Engine railway/duplo/block/track toy thing. It's scattered all over our bed as I write this comment. Grabbing the camera....

The omop is a staple in my house as well. My babysitter and cleaning person (ME) totally thinks it is worth it!
Posted by: fiesty | September 22, 2007 at 11:54 AM
And, did I read that right? cleaning person AND babysitter?! I'm so jealous!

I wish I could blame all our squalor on the boy but the mess on the kitchen table, that's all me! :)

I emailed you my link...my excuse is that we had a par-tay last night. ;)

Eh. That's not terrible!
I'm in LUV with the Method products. They all smell so good...and they work!

Here's just one example of my zero-ism. And this was a mild day. And I only have one kiddo. It's just easier to wait until she's asleep to cleanup.
