I know, I know. Quit it already, right? It's turning into Tales from my Boring Uterus around here. I get that. But let me just say that what's going on in my uterus is waaaaaaaay more interesting than what's going on in other places on my body (ahem), so I'll just stick to the fun cute parts that don't involve a toilet or a large magnifying mirror. Eep.
See. This is much better. Here she is. Baby Sunny, as my daughter as appropriately named her.
And guess what? My quad screen came back perfectly fine. Yippeeee!
So don't be disappointed. Baby Sunny needs her fair share of air time or I'll really get hammered later in life. Plus, I'll be talking about the parts that involve large magnifying mirrors on Friday.
Until then, check out what my other little girl has been drawing lately.
Forget stage mom. I think I'm going to start pawning her artwork to help pay [our mortgage] for college.

Glad to hear the test results came back fine!

Yipee for clear screenings.
Foot in mouth...I'll never forget my husband suggesting a "big and tall" shop for me.

That mermaid needs a cute Pottery Barn Kids frame and two or three merfriends to complete the artist's set.

PS - No one gets tired of hearing about your uterus...it probably has something to do with all of us having them as well.

My daughter is six and, though she won't admit it to her friends, still loves Ariel. You should be happy that she hasn't begun to draw anatomically correct mermaids!
Congrats on the test results.

Congrats on the good news.
Posted by: Jessica | May 22, 2008 at 12:27 PM
I have a big freakin' smile on my face and did a little jig. Sweeeeeet-ah!
And the mermaid rawks - you can definitely make money off that kid.

Congrats on the screen.
I love that that the mermaid's bra is near her belly. Your daughter's grasp of reality is amazing!

I. CAN'T. TAKE IT!!

Very glad to hear the test results were good! And what a great little artist!

Congratulations on the quad screen results - great news! I like Baby Sunny - so cute and a great little nickname. Nice mermaid drawing - I'd hang it!
Posted by: Rachael | May 21, 2008 at 11:13 PM
I LOVE the artwork. I have piles and piles of my girls' pictures surrounding me and only when I get really itchy can I bring myself to throw it away.
And, it looks like you'll be going to Italy after all. Enjoy the trip!

Cute baby pics! & a nice drawing, too.

Pook used to draw mermaids all the time at Q's age. But his had nipples on them. I finally decided to show him how to turn the boobs into a bathing suit top so he could share his pics with grandma.

Congratulations!! And it does seem you have a budding artist in the family.
Posted by: JessR | May 21, 2008 at 05:10 PM
Congrats on the good news! My youngest likes to draw mermaids too! She wants to be one too! Good idea about pawning them! Maybe I'll put all 100,000 of them in a book! Hugs!

Glad everything's OK. My sister had a similar scare when she was pregnant. Sometimes too much technology and info. can lead to unnecessary panic. The artwork is very impressive.
Posted by: Ken | May 21, 2008 at 04:34 PM
Yep. I knew it. Perfectly fine, that Sunny. And lovely in profile, too.
Posted by: Kelly | May 21, 2008 at 03:41 PM
Congrats! Sunny's got a beautiful shaped head going on there! :-D
I'm really glad about your test results too. PHEW! That's wonderful news.
And the mermaid is cute, but the end of her tail looks like it might bite! YIKES!

Glad the tests came back okay! And that is the cutest mermaid I've ever seen. Q should frame that one.

Oh, I'm so happy everything came back fine! I googled echogenic foci yesterday and was confident that your first tech had just scared the crap out of you for nothing so I'm thrilled that your screening came back clear. Yeah for baby Sunny!
Posted by: Lora | May 21, 2008 at 01:10 PM
So happy for you that everything came back normal and that the plane did indeed land in Italy :)
Posted by: Destiny | May 21, 2008 at 01:06 PM
Congratulations
And if this baby is anything like my cousin, she may be stuck with that in-utero nickname for the rest of her life, no matter what you actually name her, so start getting used to it!

Sunny is a GREAT name, and I'm glad she's as healthy as my Sunny turned out to be (did I ever tell you about my quad screen/nuchal fold scare? we came back high risk 1/70 for DS. We opted for no amnio and instead just toughed it out - she doesn't have DS).
That's one great artist you have there. I see a clothing line with designs from Q in your future.

I think that mermaid ought to be the newest Fadoodle.
And I'm such a sucker for ultrasound fetal profiles. I want to kiss those cheeks already.

Congrats on the test results! Boy are you lucky. My name suggestions from other kids were things like Eyeball and Film. And that was for after the baby was born!

WOOHOO for Baby Sunny!! Too precious!!! I loved my U/S pics..Congrats on the great test returns...
You should sell her artwork!! There are several parents doing it on Craigslist! We even bought on.. Here's a super cute ad from the little girl we bought art from..

Ditto on the screen. I have never seen a lovelier mermaid and you may quote me to Ms. Q - the sushi lady said so.

Ok when I saw your Twitter my mind read it as "pictures of (sunny side)up. So I was all prepared to see your breakfast. This is much better.
Posted by: Lotta | May 21, 2008 at 09:06 AM
Great news.
I used to work with a woman called Sunny. I have to confess that when I first saw her name badge I wondered who could possibly, deliberately, call their kid Sunny. And yet the name couldn't have been more perfect for her. Do you think it might stick?

The mermaid is awesome.
Congratulations on the clean screen!

Yay for a clean quad screen!
Very cool mermaid. My three year old is still drawing scribble lines back and forth. Ah well, she'll still come visit Q's first art exhibit.

I also dig the mermaid.
