I spent way too much time complaining about changing diapers. I mean -- diapers -- you can wipe their butt, through away the poop, and be done with it.
But the potty? C'mon. Who are we kidding? That just plain sucks.
We've all tried to coax our kids with stickers and candy. Okay. Just candy and lots of it. And for the most part, I was fortunate to have a kid who loved to sit on the potty.
Sit being the operative word. Actually peeing and pooping? A whole other story.
So, I was happy to check out Go Potty Go, a new DVD that gently introduces the potty to little ones. Luckily, my daughter loves little animated characters and fun songs (oh wait, isn't that ALL children?) and so she was smitten from the beginning.
In fact, she enjoyed it so much that she sings the songs WHILE she's on the potty. How about that?
It's a great intro to potty training, however, I do think folks should wait to use it until they feel as though their kids are fairly potty ready. If you're not sure, take this quiz. It will tell you if they might be ready to try the underpants. And while everyone uses a different approach to potty training, this dvd is great for anyone.
Why not buy some underpants and this dvd as a fun little gift for the potty training kid? That alone might get them to poop in the pot.
Wishful thinking....

Since I reviewed this, Cordy asks for this DVD about 100 times a day. She would watch this on auto-play all day if she could.
Now we need to do the next step - get her to sit on the potty seat instead of just asking for Go Potty Go!

Yes, it gets frustrating at times, but doing your best to not only stay calm and encouraging, but make potty training fun - like doing the potty dance, it will go much faster and smoother.
