Vincent Shoes: I'm Going With European
I have espoused my obsession with shoes on more than one occasion. Sadly, I feel the same way about kid's shoes.
Before you go on and tell me how impractical it is to be obsessed with kid's shoes, don't worry, I get it. But I have learned that crappy kid shoes do not go a long way, particularly when you have kids that beat them up. Maybe I won't spend $40 on a pair of dress shoes for my daughter, but play shoes? Summer sandals? You bet your ascot I will.
But wouldn't you know, my daughter gets blisters from Stride Rite shoes. All of them. Regardless of whether they fit (or not).
Honestly, that's perfectly fine with me since I really do love Vincent shoes. And other than a few other great brands that we own, we love them. Now I could go through why (which if you take ONE look at them, it's obvious) -- they're cute, they're stylish, and they're different. But what you might not get from looking at them is that they are extremely well made.
Extremely.
And if, by chance, they fall apart, like the Antons (pictured on Drew) that had a velcro mishap, the folks at Vincent will get you a new pair pronto. How cool!
Even if you're not into the whole European sleek thing (or girly and some people seem to say and agree with my husband!), Vincent has plenty o' shoes to please most palates. Just make sure to use their handy foot sizer before ordering. Or if you don't have a printer (like me), drop them an email and they'll tell you how the sizing runs for each shoe.
Now before you run off and buy your own (use code "SPRING-DEAL-8" for 20% off your order -- not sale items though, sorry!), settle an argument. Do you think the Antons look girly? I think they're great for summer (on either boys or girls), but my huz thinks they are girly.
So, what's your opinion? I'm going with "European" not girly...

They are SO CUTE!! Not girly at all. Maybe a little modern prep schoolish or even San Diego alt-beach-rock band (think No Doubt) with the right outfit.

I think the shoes are cute and not girly. I'd put them on my son. Very preppy.

They're pretty girly, but I guess I could allow that they're borderline when worn with a preppy outfit like he's got in the picture.
Overall, I'd say they're definitely much more at home on a girl's foot than a boy's.

Well, I'M European (British, living in the south of France) and they don't look AT ALL girly to me - in fact, I suspect that neither of my daughters (aged 6 and 4)would deign to wear them. These are exactly the kind of shoes that most kids - boys - wear round here most of the summer (so I guess that makes them European!).
No, not girly, no way (the colours! the lack of sparkly things!).

Very cute and European! They remind me of Vans.
