Yoplait Kids! (And Moms too).

Surprise! We're fairly anti-licensed characters at my house, and yet we've got Dora underpants, Princess toothbrushes, and whatever else.

So, I suppose we are anti-licensed character in theory. That means I try to avoid them as much as possible and use them to my advantage.

When it comes to yogurt, I don't generally need to get my kids to eat it (and honestly, my feeling is that if your kids won't eat it, it's not a big deal; we can all survive without yogurt), so why bother buying "Special Whoever" yogurt.

But then I got a free coupon for Yoplait Kids! new DHA-enhanced yogurt and so I figured I'd give it a try.

And yes, it was free. So, how's that going to hurt anything?

Truthfully, I buy large containers of the Whole Fat Organic Vanilla Yogurt and just mix fresh fruit. It's less waste, less sugar, and less money.

So, I was a skeptic when it came to the Yoplait Kids yogurt drinks. Of course, with Dora splashed all over them, it took all of two seconds for my daughter to run towards them like they were covered in chocolate and sprinkles.

To my surprise, they are not covered in anything but fairly healthy goodness, at least when it comes to fruit flavored non-organic yogurt. They've got 25% less sugar and lots of good things (like beet juice and DHA -- great for little brains).

And they are NOT sugary sweet. In fact, my vanilla yogurt and real fruit combo is probably sweeter.

Both my kids ate them up and if they were organic and had a bit more fat (we need the fat around these parts), I'd probably buy them on a regular basis.
